When you have established a connection, you can replay stored pictures from your camera using your TV remote control.
If you are seeking the best sound quality, look for a home theater system rather than the built-in system, which actually does have better sound than past models. If you want to fill your room with a realistic audio output, the custom installation of V-Audio Surround using the square footage of your room will provide excellent audio feedback from the integrated digital signal processor. Should I get a Canon flash for my Digital Rebel XTi, or will other brands do?
I am on the market for a flash for my Canon Digital Rebel XTi. As I searched… I found a few that are much cheaper than the canon brand, but there weren’t any reviews associated with them.
Should I stick with the canon brand?
Can someone help?

I would stick with Canon Speedlites. They are made to take every advantage of the ETTL system on the Canon units. The 3rd Party were not. Plus if you do fry your camera with a 3rd party unit, your pretty much scerwed, Canon will not fix it under warriety if you put a 3rd party unit on it.
I would get teh 430EX from Canon. Its the most balanced unit that goes on the XTi and its more than enough for most situations.

Can anyone recommend a waterproof digital camera? How does the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FT1 compare to Olympus?
I’ve heard of far too many cases of people saying that their Olympus waterproof camera had leaking seals.
I need it for holidays (going to the USA), and can’t risk buying an Olympus if it might leak.
Just wondering if anyone can recommend an Olympus model that isn’t prone to leaking seals,
Or can anyone tell me how the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FT1 performs in comparison (picture quality, speed, practicality etc.)
A Panasonic Lumix TS1 series camera is the best waterproof camera you can get (it might also be the most expensive one).
A lot of people have had problems with the image results when they took pictures with the Olympus Stylus Tough-8000, so it’s probably a good thing that you didn’t buy it. The Fujifilm FinePix Z33WP and the Canon D10 cameras are your other options. The most affordable you could get is the Fuifilm FinePix Z33WP.

Which is better the Canon Rebel XTI Or Nikon D40x, and why?
I want to know what is the differences between the Nikon D40x and the Canon Rebel XTi? Which is better? And why?
Well, I’ve answered this question many a time, and it’s time once again.
For in camera body stabilization, the Olympus and Pentax might look like a great setup. But, you must understand this form of stabilization is less than the Vibration Reduction, VR, or Image Stabilization, IS, offered in the lenses. Sure VR and IS lenses cost a lot, but it is worth it if you’ve got shaky hands or need some extra room.
Take for instance the in camera stabilization.Pop Photo only gives them about 1 to 2 stops help, if that. This is not good at all. Now, look at the Nikon 18-200mm VR. It provides 4 to 5 stops, a very noticable difference. Sure it $750, compared to a few hundred, but it is well worth it. You also get great optical quality.
In the past, I would never recommend the Nikon D40x. I would simply suggest the D40, or skip the D40x and get the D80. I still suggest this, but I feel the D40x would be a choice if a photographer is needing more resolution.
Canon has several things going for it: Image quality and many cheap lenses at it’s disposal. But, the lenses actually work against it. You see, the majority of the cheaper lenses, those priced under $500 are crap lenses. The kit lenses are absolutly deplorable. This is unlike Nikon, whose lenses are way above anything Canon can produce. But, once you get up to the professional level, the differences between the two brands become non-existent.
Canon also has one major flaw: Layout and quality. The quality of the EOS XTi is no good. The previous model, the Rebel XT was even worse, feeling as if it were a toy. I’m not kidding in any way. The XTi is slightly better, but the poor quality is still very appearent. This mixed with a cheap Canon lens, spin together into something I cannot even describe.
The Nikon D40/D40x on the other hand is quite different. Like all Nikons, the D40 and D40x have a very solid design. The layout is great as well. They are pretty small for my tastes, but they do not skip on their solid feel. These two cameras, like most of the Nikons do not have a CMOS chip like Canon, but still, the image quality is nothing less than superb. So, that’s image quality, camera build quality, the large number of lenses, all for just a cheap price of $600. The D40 is even cheaper.
One thing I must mention is that Nikon took out the in camera motor on the D40 and D40x, meaning these two cameras will not auto focus with not AF-S lenses, or equivalent. You can still use the older screw driven lenses just as you would normally, except they will not AF. This might seem like a great flaw, but when you think about it, it really is not.
The Nikon D40 and D40x are designed specifically for people who are moving up from digital point and shoot cameras, and who do not have any lenses for the camera, and who do not expect to buy anymore lenses. The D40 and D40x fit this group perfectly. This is why the lenses that will AF on them are the kit 18-55mm and the extension, the 55-200mm/VR. The D40 and D40x cannot be bought new without the 18-55mm, so the only real lens buyers will be looking at is the 55-200mm/VR version. However, Nikon makes many many more AF-S lenses. These, unlike the 18-55mm and the 55-200mm are much more expensive. This is because these are pro level lenses, not entry level lenses. But still, this entry level classification means nothing, since these two lenses are much better than the same class Canon lenses.
If you want AF and an even better camera, get the next step up, the Nikon D80.
So, if you want great images, get the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi. If you want great images, great camera build, layout, a great selection of lenses, and all for a cheap price, get the Nikon D40x, or D40.

Point Shoot Digital
What is the best point-and-shoot digital camera, 6 MP and up? My expectations are high: I have a film Leica R9
…but I need an excellent point-and-shoot for traveling. Something small, but as close to film as possible for a digital p-and-s. Please, no SLR recommendations. Thanks!
I will be using this mostly for portraiture and photojournalism. I prefer low light, with no flash or tripod.
If you need low light with no flash or tripod, then you’ll need a Fuji.
If I were you, I’d get a Fuji S6000fd or S9100. If you want a small camera, then get the f50fd. Sure, it’s low light image quality isn’t quite as good as the f31fd, but I’m sure if you resized the f50fd’s images to 6 megapixels, it would look better than the f31fds 6 megapixels.

Whats a good compact digital camera with high resolution video capture as well?
Can anyone recommend a good compact camera that can take good photo and with high resolution video camera? is there one with 1080p ?
All of the major brands are good. Choose a brand that appeals to you. Then you have to think about getting a spare battery, what size memory card, if you want an extended warranty, how much you can afford, what size zoom, if you want manual controls, the size of the camera, finding a reliable place to purchase it, and the list goes on and on and on…….
The first thing to realize is that almost any digital camera will take good pictures. If more people would read the manual more than once, they would be able to take better pictures. Usually, the person assumes it is the camera when it could be them not knowing exactly what to do. Just give yourself more photographic knowledge by doing more reading on the internet.
I really believe buying a camera is an individual choice.
The person needs to read alot of reviews on cameras so they can decide on the features that they really want and need.
Go to the store and hold them so you can see if they feel comfortable in your hands. If possible, take some pictures in the store to check the quality of the pictures.
I can only give a suggestion of what to look for in a new digital camera.

Xsi Camera
IS the Canon Rebel XSI a good camera for beginners.?
I took a photography class in Hight School, so I know the basics, but would still consider myself a beginner. I am looking to splurge on a camera and came upon the Canon Rebel XSI. Any other suggestions?
A great camera. I really see no reason to upgrade to the heavier and pricer 40/50D. One thing you’ll prob want to know is that buying a dslr is not a one-time investment. You’ll likely be purchasing more lens and accessories in the future, and all that added together easily exceeds the initial camera and body price. With that taken into account, if you want a cheaper body, I suggest a Nikon D40. You can easily find it new with the kit lens for under $400 at Amazon.com . The only thing that it has going against it is that it doesnt autofocus with older, non-afs lenses. The only reason why you would prefer a Canon is if you want faster fps shooting speed, more megapixels (which doesnt nessecarily translate to better image quality), already own canon lenses, and maybe a better included software. Otherwise, the D40 is full of win.
