Which is the best DSLR Camera for begginers?

Hi.
Im a begginer at this DSLR stuff and wondering which camera would be the best at a super low price. I've found a few that interest me:

Only problem is with the Pentax it doesnt have a rechargable battery like the others ones do.

Which would be the best one for me as a begginer and only being 15.

If i was to get the D40 i could also get a flash or an extra lense.

For an almost there DSLR, the following could be your best bet for a super low price. Also, the other information should be helpful in knowing what to look for in any camera.

In new cameras, look for optical viewfinders (LCD invisible in bright sun) and check battery prices. High mega pixel settings take longer to process and may not be needed unless required for large pictures or enlarging parts of pictures. Just saw this camera at Best Buy and think it is a great camera and a best buy. It has an optical viewfinder, image stabilizer, auto focus, and uses NiMH rechargeable batteries. Read as much of the following as you can for other information and help with choosing a camera.

While most of the cameras out there are really good, I would choose Canon over Nikon because it seems like more camera for the money. Some would say Canon withholds their best technology for high end cameras and Nikon implements their best at all levels. What gives a camera its picture quality?
The short answer is that it is mostly the skill of the photographer that produces high quality pictures. The lens and camera are very important, but the ability to set the scene, adjust the cameras settings, and hold the camera very still or use a tripod with auto or remote shutter actuation when required is what gets the great pictures.

The information about my camera is just to show that you don't need the biggest and best. Just know how to use the one you have.

My camera has 5.2 mega pixel, but I use 3 most of the time because it gives great results, is faster, and takes less memory. Also, it only has a 3 x optical zoom and 7 x digital zoom. I never use the digital zoom because making pictures larger works better on the computer. This is an old camera, but everyone is impressed with the quality pictures it takes ... like magic.

Check with the Geeks in several stores and compare prices. Ask what cameras they own, but don't believe everything you hear. Once you select a camera read all about it in the owner's manual. Just learned that my camera has red-eye prevention and correction. It also has adaptive lighting. Loading CF card onto computer- cant figure out problem, anyone here good with cameras?

hi, I’m in a photography class in my school and apparently one of the CF card readers had a bent pin so a lot of CF cards wont load normally. I tried to bring it home and when I plugged it in to the computer directly (it has a port) the light lit up but nothing else occurred. I then tried plugging in a usb cable b/n the camera and the computer and it says I need some sort of software (the camera belongs to the school.)

The interesting thing is you can view the pictures perfectly on the camera itself.

This would be a HUGE help since many students are having this problem and don’t want to lose their pictures so all of our CF cards are tied up.

In case it helps, the camera is a Canon EOS (I’m not an expert so let me know if you need any more info about the situation or the camera itself)

**added details: i have tried using multiple card readers but to no avail (3 diffrent ones not including my computer)

There is nothing wrong with your CF card if you can see the images on the camera.

Just plugging in the CF card is not going to do anything. You have to open up your computers file manager and actually copy the image files from your CF card to your computer. Once there, you can burn a CD or copy them to a USB flash memory card.

You can also by a cheap CF card reader (under $10) and take it to school with you and use it on the computer there.

Once you have saved the images to your computer and CD as a backup, format the card using Canon's format feature on the camera.

Your instructor and/or lab tech will know all this

How close a Semi-Pro camera can compete a DSLR?

I wanna buy a DSLR camera but i dont want to spend more than $600.
It's seem $500 is not enough to get good lens with wide range.
I'm a beginner and want to have a good camera.
How close a semi-pro camera can compete a DSLR ?

I.e : Canon Powershot SX10IS and Nikon D60 (with kit lens) ?
What D60 can do but the canon SX101S can't do ?
canon SX101S has 5mm-100mm but D60 (with kit lens) has 18 -55.
Both have Aperture & shutter speed priority.

So, what should i choose semi-pro camera or D60 ?

The D60 has a much larger sensor. Which means it can collect far more light. This gives it a significant advantage at the higher ISO sensitivities often needed for shooting in low light. Also since the lens is interchangeable you can attach ones more specialized for a certain task. For example a nice super-fast fixed focal length lens. Or a ultrawide angle lens*. And the quality of these lenses is generally better than what you would find on a compact (especially one with such a long, and thus compromised, zoom).

*The lens on the SX101S isn't as wide as you might think. Because it has a smaller sensor, that 5mm is roughly equivalent to 18.7mm on the D60.

BTW, you can save quite a bit by going with the D40 instead. Yeah it's technically only 6MP, But the sensor is still far superior because of its physical size.

Pros of Apple iPads

1. Great Starting Price - For a power packed iPad, $ 499 is a decent promotional price to start with. Quite a dealmaker. Everyone expected it to start from $ 599 and above.
2. Sleek weight and Size - iPad being 1.5 pounds in weight and 0.5 inches is awesome. The sleekness quotient of Apple lineage of products took off with this one. It couldn't be handier.
3. iPad Applications- The iPod applications and iTunes store, now on the bigger screen looks even more beautiful. 140,000 apps are already in the offing from the App Store with a dedicated section for apps designed specifically for iPads.

Cons of 1st Gen iPads

1. Adobe Flash Player - Flash files do make things slow and limiting. This was understandable with iphones but not with iPads. The blue question mark for no flash players is a frustrating thing to see. No one can have a great Web surfing experience without Flash. Apple needs to sort this out with Adobe in whichever way possible or find an alternative with iPad 2.0 soon.
2. Multitasking - The first edition of iPad needs to improve its multitasking abilities. iPads have raised our expectations through the roof. With such a powerful processor, apple should have been able to incorporate multitasking on iPads easily. Like for example, you can't listen to WunderRadio while reading a book unless of course the station is streaming on Safari. We can put up with the battery life getting shorter, but definitely not without multitasking.
3. HDMI Out - Currently there isn't any wireless or an HDTV connection to a TV. Apple TV could get easily replaced if there was an HDTV out. It's a little surprising why they haven't thought of connecting the two most important appliances. And I am pretty sure it will be added in 2nd generation iPads.
4. Camera Option- A front facing camera for video iChat would be an amazing feature for iPads, adding more utility. This can make it hugely popular with every generation. I'm sure it has to do with the price but a camera option is a must, whatsoever.
5. Widescreen Option- You can tap on a movie to see it in either fullscreen or widescreen. It is not as wide as most widescreen formats are but it doesn't make a big difference watching movies on it either.
6. AT&T only for 3G- It is great to have no cellular contracts for 3G but the current AT&T's service has been less than great for iPhone users. This will furthermore clog the network with more devices trying to connect through it. I believe, Verizon could be a more apt alternative for US users.

Well no device is perfect with it's first generation release. And it is surely likely to improve and have added features on the wishlist. But overall Ipad rocks. I plan to make it my all time companion soon. Don't you want it too?
