Chose this camera as a gift for a novice in digital photography. Easyshare is EASY. A great first digital camera. Looks boring, but acts much more interestingly!
Nice camera, easycare software could use some improvement.

Nice camera for the money. Takes nice pictures, easy to use. It comes with Easycare software to load pictures onto your computer. I've had a few problems with getting pictures to load. I've had to reboot my computer a couple times before pictures would download into Easycare program. Also, it was not easy to figure out how to resize photos. You have to go into Edit, then drag the photo you want to resize into a seperate edit section and hit the Save AS button. On the page it takes you to there is a resize drop down button at the bottom of the page.
Just Add Batteries

One, it is a "keep it simple, keep it fun" camera for the soccer mom that won't break the bank if she leaves it in the stands. Two, She adds two AA batteries and does not have to worry about being away from a battery charging socket.
Great for eBay shots

Reviewer: Senior citizen,
I needed a camera that takes good indoor closeups of small items, and this one takes great shots. I am over 65 and not too great with technical things, but have managed to take some really good pictures. I find it harder to download to my computer folder for editing than the older Kodak cameras. Otherwise, it is just fine, and battery life is really good. An excellent camera for the price.
Handy little camera

Very compact and light. Always have it in my wife's pocketbook.Easy to use. Good pictures. Make sure you carry extra AA batteries as it doesn't take as many pictures as advertised. I would recommend it as a backup camera to carry at all times.
It was a gift

We gave this camera to my sister-in-law. She seems to be very happy with it.
Not so easy

The camera is hard to turn on; that's really my one complaint. Takes several attempts. Early pictures were blury but there were better camera settings that eliminated that problem. This was a gift for my Parents who are not too technically savy. The on/off button is hard to push, poorly located and very small. I'm not certain that there is not a problem with this particular unit. Seems to be a huge lag between pushing the button and the camera actually turning on. It does take nice pictures with the stability setting turned on.
buyer beware

i bought one from walmart about 4 months ago, and it just randomly died and cannot be fixed. up to this point, it has been a very nice camera, but like i said, it gave no warning and just died on me after about 4 months of use. also, the batteries are a hassle, as it takes AA batteries. you also HAVE to have a SD card, or else it will not take video on it's internal memory...plus, you can only get about 10 pics or so on internal mem. you also have a SD card limit, though, of how many gigs the card can be...good cheaper camera, but if you plan to have it a long time, beware...
Surprise! This takes AA batteries!

I was disappointed to find out that this camera requires AA batteries instead of having a regular Li-Ion digital camera battery. I ordered it as a Christmas gift for my 12-year-old grandson and didn't have time to return it. To compensate, I had to buy a set of rechargeable AA batteries with a charger and add it to the gift box.
no video sound playback on camera

Big disappointment when I took a video & played it back & found it didn't play any sound. You have to connect it to a computer or TV to hear the sound. It does record the sound, but you can't play it back on the camera itself. Otherwise, a nice inexpensive camera, but this could be a big drawback for some people.
